Japan wunderbox

ABOUT

[March 24-29, 2026 | from 10am to 6pm]

The creative duo Barbieri Magalini curates for Trilogy Textile “Japan wunderbox”: a cabinet of curiosities inspired by contemporary Japan, in which the textile moodboard becomes space and experience.

The “Japan wunderbox”, installed at SPAZIO MM in Milan, draws inspiration from the creative duo Barbieri Magalini’s travels in Japan, translated into a material narrative composed of surfaces, impressions, and conceptual furnishings. It is a large box made of natural wood, crossed by a subtle organic texture. An essential volume that houses a precious textile microcosm: archetypal forms and primary volumes covered with a selection of Trilogy Textile fabrics inspired by Japanese atmospheres. Illuminating the space are three Teti lamps by Artemide, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1970: an emblem of harmony and timeless elegance.

“Japan wunderbox reflects our way of conducting research: collecting materials, objects, and impressions. With this in mind, we have created an imaginative place capable of welcoming, connecting, and capturing the gaze; intertwining our idea of conviviality with the Japanese sense of harmony.” Manuel Barbieri and Marco Magalini.

The production of the project, together with the curation of the related brand experience (both physical and digital communication), is handled by the creative consultancy agency MM Company.
